Yin for the Legs & Hips (with music)
August 25, 2021

This is from Ruby's 8.25.21 Wed. evening class that she taught as a Yin Style class. She chose a sequence that works all the major muscle groups of the legs quite thoroughly. We'll hold most postures for about 3 minutes each, which is usually just long enough to go really deep and to shed some layers of tension. This is a beginner friendly class for the most part, but know that 3 minutes might almost seem too long in the beginning. If that's the case for you, feel free to come out of the postures a bit before Ruby brings you out.

We'll also cover the 3 Principles of Yin Yoga, which are:
Come into the pose to an appropriate depth… Give your body a space to open up and invite you to go deeper.
Resolve to be still… Once we have found the edge, we settle into the pose and let go of the movement.
Rest in the posture for some time…(don't worry, this will be more of a beginner class, so we won't hold most postures beyond 2 or 3 minutes).

Focus: Mainly the lower three chakras, quads, hamstrings, piriformis, hip flexors, and back.

Props: blocks, blankets/pillows/cushions if available
