Fall Into Intention Yin Series Intro Class
October 25, 2021

Ruby offered this session as a free intro class for the Fall Into Intention: 5 week Yin Yoga Series she's offering for the month of November. You can check it out here: https://inspirestudio.punchpass.com/series/18135
Fall is such an important time to slow down and and turn inwards and this class/series allows you to do just that. Whether you're new to Yin or not, this is a lovely, short class to remind you of the benefits of slowing down and being with yourself with whatever comes up and gives you a lovely taste of what the series will be like. Each class in the series has a specific focus or intention and this class focuses on introspection and release.

We'll also cover the 3 Principles of Yin Yoga, which are:
Come into the pose to an appropriate depth… Give your body a space to open up and invite you to go deeper.
Resolve to be still… Once we have found the edge, we settle into the pose and let go of the movement.
Rest in the posture for some time…(don't worry, this will be more of a beginner class, so we won't hold most postures beyond 2 or 3 minutes).

Yin yoga targets your deep connective tissues, like your fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. It's slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. Yoga props like blankets, blocks, a bolster or pillows, eye pillow, sand bag or bag of rice/beans will be very helpful during a Yin practice.
