The word equinox translates to equal night and is a way for us to celebrate the passages of time and mark the transition from one season to another and to prepare for the interior and exterior changes that are to come. Especially as we move into the sun sign of Libra, which is all about balance, this is a powerful time to reflect on, how, after a long summer of adventuring and perhaps being out of some of your routines, where is more balance needed in your life? This event will help you slow down, turn inwards, and get clued into what that means for you.
Yin yoga targets your deep connective tissues, like your fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. It's slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. Ruby Koa will be planning a sequence that works with the particular energies at play during this change of seasons, and Cathy Herford will be sending restorative Reiki energy at some point during the practice. There will also be a short sharing circle to give you a chance to introduce yourself and share your intentions, but it's always optional to skip that part.
Please have some sort of cleansing tool like sage, sweet grass, or even essential oil to energetically cleanse your practice space. Have a pen and journal handy as there will most likely be time given to reflect and write. You'll also find yoga props like blankets, blocks, a bolster or pillows very helpful during a Yin practice.
This event is open to all.
