The sky, free of moonlight, will serve as a metaphorical blank canvas during this special time to plant seeds of new intentions. Energetically it is a time when you can create space to support and nourish the creative element in yourself, to refill your own cup and make time to connect with the natural world and yourself. This will also be a great opportunity to gather together with other like-minded souls while tapping into the power of our own inner space through the deep practice of Yin Yoga.
Yin yoga targets your deep connective tissues, like your fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. It's slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. Ruby Koa will be planning a sequence that works with the particular energies at play during this New Moon, and Cathy Herford will be sending restorative Reiki energy at some point during the practice.
There will also be a short sharing circle to give you a chance to introduce yourself and share your intentions, but it's always optional to skip that part.
Please have some sort of cleansing tool like sage, sweet grass, or even essential oil to energetically cleanse your practice space. Have a pen and journal handy as there will most likely be time given to reflect and write. You'll also find yoga props like blankets, blocks, a bolster or pillows very helpful during a Yin practice.
This event is open to all.
