A Sound Healing Experience with Ruby Koa & Jay Darling

Just after the Libra full moon, this is a powerful time to embrace balance, harmony, and inner alignment. Libra, the sign of relationships and beauty, invites us to restore equilibrium within ourselves and in our connections with others. Through the soothing resonance of sound, we will journey into deep relaxation, release energetic blockages, and attune to the expansive wisdom of the full moon.

This event begins with gentle breath work and subtle movement to open the heart and bring balance to the energetic body. As the sound healing instruments begin, you’ll be guided through a deeply restorative Yoga Nidra practice to ease the mind and body into stillness. From there, allow yourself to fully immerse in the vibrations of gongs, singing bowls, chimes, and other sacred instruments as you enter a state of deep relaxation and renewal.

Ruby and Jay have collaborated in sound healing many times and are excited to offer this special full moon journey together. As most of Ruby’s full moon events are women-only, she was guided to choose Jay to hold space for the divine masculine energy to also be worked with and represented in this event. Lately, they have been experimenting with combining the sound of the bowls with the gongs, creating a deeply powerful and immersive sound experience.

There may also be one or two intuitive energy work practitioners present to offer gentle energetic support to the group during the sound bath, enhancing the experience with Reiki and other healing modalities.

What to Bring: The sound journey is usually experienced lying down on your back or a similar comfortable position. Some blankets, bolsters, and lovely silk eye pillows with optional lavender aromatherapy essential oils will be available to use. We'll probably be lying down for at least an hour, on a hardwood floor, and we turn off the heat during the sound bath since it's so loud, so please dress in layers and bring whatever you need to be warm and comfortable.
- yoga, Pilates mat, or reclining camping ("anti gravity") chair if lying on the floor is difficult for you (optional thick blanket for extra padding)

- journal and pen in case you'd like to write a bit after the experience.

Cancellation/refund policy: If you can’t attend the event, please get in touch. Refunds are usually only given when the cancellation is made 24 hours before the event starts as space is limited and we’d like time to contact anyone on the waiting list. However, you are always welcome to give your ticket to someone else or if you contact Ruby as soon as you can, you can let her know what future event or class you’d like to be registered in with your credit.

More on Yoga Nidra: Yoga Nidra is a guided yogic sleep that allows for relaxation and enhanced healing, opens us to our inner guidance, and helps to integrate change by accessing the subconscious. Yoga nidra is a tool for initiating deep change In the root causes of physical, emotional and psychological imbalances as a result of stress. Yoga Nidra brings about a supported lucid dream state by the enhancement of the alpha wave state in the brain, a super-conscious frequency in the mind that releases tension, gives rise to enhanced vision and heightened awareness which then allows us to be more present in our lives.
Recently, this practice has been put under the umbrella of the term coined by Andrew Huberman, NSDR or Non-Sleep Deep Rest.

About the Facilitators:
Ruby Koa:
Ruby, founder of Inspire Studio has been teaching yoga in Bellingham since 2009. She offers a variety of classes including various forms of Vinyasa Flow, Gentle Flow, Yin, Restorative, and Kundalini Yoga. Ruby’s aim is to cultivate a sense of community and she loves working with the divine feminine as well as the medium of sound healing. She has crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, a Chau and a Planetary Moon Gong. In addition to her Kundalini Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga 200 hr. She has also completed a level 1 & advanced gong training and is now a 500 hour RYT with specific certifications for teaching yin, restorative yoga, and more.

Jay Darling:
Jay understands that music is food for the soul. Jay has been helping people of all ages move and cut loose in the spirit of play for decades. Jay plays instrumental and body percussion, handpan, and vocalizations. He can be contacted at: [email protected]

About Reiki & the Practicioners:
Reiki is a wonderful way to restore one’s life-force energy. It is an  ancient healing art and means “Universal Energy” in Japanese.  It is  believed to enhance the body’s ability to heal itself and offers  increasing wellbeing and resilience. Participants will  receive restorative energy and support with grounding themselves and  releasing blocked energy channels during the sound healing segment of the event. Saralee Sky,  MA, Reiki Master and Cathy Herford, Reiki Master Teacher are the  facilitators during classes and events.
