Relax and Renew: Restorative Yoga Workshop with Sound Healing

Where: Presence Studio 1412 Cornwall Ave. The studio is just to the left of Bellingham Bar and Grill and is located upstairs. Be sure to allow plenty of time for parking.

Description: Love sound healing events, but get uncomfortable just lying down flat the whole time? Or maybe you enjoy restorative yoga already, but are not motivated to do it on your own? By combining restorative yoga with sound healing, you’ll experience a level of deep relaxation like never before. 

We’ll start off with some gentle yoga and guided meditation. Then, using props such as blocks, bolsters, and blankets for extra support, you will hold postures long enough to really let go and experience all of their yummy benefits. Ruby will be playing Tibetan and Crystal bowls as well as two planetary gongs, Moon and Sedna to allow you to go deeper into your relaxation. Elizabeth will be making rounds, playing Tibetan bowls on each person while the various postures are held, if desired. 

We will also use the props to gain maximum comfort during various styles of shavasana. At the height of your bliss, you will be guided through a lying down meditation called yoga nidra to help you set your intention for spring and to totally unwind. Ruby will also play a variety of sound healing instruments like singing bowls, chimes, and the gong to allow you to go deeper into your relaxation.  

What to bring: There will be one bolster, two blankets, and an eye pillow provided per person, but as restorative yoga is all about comfort and you really want to be on a soft surface, please bring a yoga, Pilates, or camping mat, 2 warm, fluffy blankets, a beach towel, pillow, and anything else you think that might increase your relaxation.
